Auli - Most Visited Hill Station of INDIA during Winters - Stay,Travel and Winter Trek details
JUNE,2019 - I trekked to Auli from Joshimath, Uttrakhand. Sharing How to travel to joshimath by various means of transportation from Delhi and Chandigarh along with Fare details.
Stay recommandation is Joshimath if you want to keep your budget low.
1. Travel overnight to Rishikesh or Haridwar from Delhi or Chandigarh either by bus or train fare in Sleeper Class is INR 180 and Bus Fair INR 280 in URCTC Bus and 350 to 500 Rupees in other private buses. Travelling time is lesser by 3 hours by Bus in compare to Train.
2. Reaching Rishikesh or haridwar early morning and taking a bus to Joshimath fare in 280 rupees by Bus and 400 Rupees by Shared Cab. Travelling Time is 7 to 10 hours depending on Road Conditions and traffic.
3. Stay at Joshimath as this small city which has most beautiful scenic hills around, has best stay options in economical prices than Auli. This city also has GMVN guest house which offers multiplay stay options starting with 150 INR.
4. Stay options are also available at Auli, for those who are lucky may get Dormitory with 20 beds starting from INR 180. This and other room ranging between 1850 in summers and INR 2250 in winters can be booked from Website of GMVN.
5. Auli from Joshimath is 13 Kilometres by road. Cab is available at INR 400 per person on sharing basis.
6. Cable Car or Trolly takes you directly from Joshimath to Auli in INR 700 both sides journey which takes 30 minutes each side and has it own pleasure of travelling
7. Trek to Auli starts from Joshmath Bus Stop having total distance of 8.5 Kms. I as camping travelling india recommand to start the trek from ITBP green color gate which is at 5 kilometres from Joshimath Bus Stop. Total distance of trek will remain 3.5 or 4 kms which may take 2 hours to reach Auli.

Auli is a Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. It’s surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, plus the Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat mountains. A long cable car links Auli to the town of Joshimath. North of Auli are the colorful Badrinath Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and the Valley of Flowers National Park, with its alpine flora and wildlife like snow leopards and red foxes.
